Inspiration: I got the inspiration to create this painting from my memory. For most of my life I have always felt that the way I think and remember things was so different from the rest of the world. It felt so different that often times I would feel like maybe there was something wrong with how my brain worked. I would often wonder if everybody else thought the way I did and then I would start to compare myself to others. Growing up I always felt so alone and now as an adult I sometimes feel like I have a “marked memory” because the way I processed things as a child have stuck with me over the years. I wanted to create this painting to remind the viewer that being different is not so bad. In fact, it is a blessing and a gift you just can’t be afraid to lean into it and use it.
